Pedernales Type Knife or Dart Point

Middle Archaic, approx 4,500 yrs BP

Well used point made from a nice rootbeer flint.
Personal find from Colorado riverbanks in Burnet Co.

Note: This point has the looks of an earlier transitional point type because of the heavy fluting, flaking style and overall shape. Most likely the shape and size is just the result of multiple ancient re-sharpenings, and this was once a much larger point.
