Marshall Point or Knife

Middle Archaic, approx 3,500 yrs BP

Made of translucent rootbeer flint

Another point in Joe Johnston's collection of his Gillespie County points, found on family property in the Pedernales River area.

Note: This is most likely a big, thin atlatl dart or spear point. I believe that the dart shafts were fairly heavy for points this large. I would hate to have to try to pull one out of myself, Look at those barbs!
