Williams Type Dart Point

Early Archaic, approx 3,000 yrs BP

Made of a translucent rootbeer flint with traces of cortex causing opaqueness.
From Bill Arnold who found this point on his place on the Lampasas River in Burnet Co.

Notes: This is a nice old point, without a lot of edge retouching or heavy use. The blade edges are almost razor sharp!

The distinct trait of the Williams point is the rounded base. It's interesting to note how this point shows cortex from the outside of the flint that it was made from.
