Angostura Type Knife/Spear Point
Paleo Period, Approx 9000 yrs BP
Made of a colorful Alibates Flint.
Big and thin with a ground base. This point has some Plainview point characteristics. Found in Hamilton Co.
Notes: The Alibates flint was prized by the Paleo people. Alibates quarry in the Texas Panhandle is several hundred miles from where this point was found. Alibates flint was traded all over North America. Paleo artifacts made of Alibates flint have been reported as far away as Canada.
